My husband and I have been living in our home for more than a decade now, and it has to be said many of the rooms are looking a bit worse for wear.
Unfortunately both the bathroom and kitchen seem to have reached the point of no return and a total revamp is probably going to be required.
The problem is where is the best place to start? At the moment there appears to be a vast amount of kitchens and bathrooms available. Should you be thinking about a traditional style, maybe modern, or just go for the wow factor?
At present a few of our local DIY shops are offering great deals on the bathrooms and kitchens, but is purchasing at the local DIY store always the best choice?
Maybe you could be better suited buying direct from a specialist company. At the moment lots of the larger companies have some brilliant deals on offer. If you like you can choose Interest Free payments over a 2 year period, maybe for the kitchen you could get all of your electrical appliances thrown into the deal. With the current economic market as it is, the choice is yours and by shopping around you will be able to play companies off against each other, ensuring you get offered the very best deals possible.
Even though you may seem to be getting a great deal, please bear in mind that these companies are still making a profit out of you. Why not push that little bit harder to see how far they will drop their prices, you have nothing to loose by trying.
When decorating any room, a really important factor is choosing the right accessories. Accessories for the kitchen can make or break a room. They have to be just right and fit in with the style you have chosen for your kitchen. An easier room to transform is the bathroom. Accessories for the bathroom can be easily mixed and matched, and changed from month to month.
The problem we will have is by decorating both the kitchen and bathroom our lounge is going to look a bit old and tired. It might be a good idea to just invest in some ethical homeware. These could certainly brighten up the room and do not have to break the bank. It looks like with all this work going on at home, it is going to be a very busy couple of months.
