Home owners are choosing to renovate their houses instead of selling them during a low point in the housing market. An easy way to do this is by installing a wet room. You can do this yourself and you won’t have to pay a firm for labour costs.
Your first step should be to choose a style for your room as this will make it easier to purchase your products. Picking a historical theme will add a bit of class to the room. Gold is a great colour to use on your taps and marble epitomises glamour. On the other hand, you could go ultra trendy by choosing chrome accessories and using a simple colour palette.
As you start building, you need to prepare the area in which the room will be placed. t is easiest to convert your existing bathroom into a wet room, and if you have a large enough space, separate the room from the sink and toilet bowls. Most importantly, make sure the floor is prepared so that you don’t have to worry about leaks or blocked drains. good materials to use include tiles and vinyl for their waterproof qualities and because they come in so many designs.
Cover the walls after the floor has been put down. Like the floors, tiles are probably the best material to use on the walls, though you can get waterproof boards which cost less. Use a good corner trim to protect the edges of your walls from damage and also to remove any sharp corners. Corner trim will reduce the effects of mould in the grout and prevent erosion of any soft materials.
You can design a water room to fit any space, big or little. As long as you protect your room with corner trim and waterproofing you will have a room where you can relax for years to come, or that will bring you a nice profit if you decide to sell.
